Associate Professor
Dr. Levitt is an Associate Professor of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Texas Woman's University. She received an M.S. degree in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience and a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her primary research interests reside in the areas of voice/speech production, motor speech disorders, and neurogenic communication disorders. Her current study is focused on voice remediation and voice-related quality of life for the individuals with Parkinson's disease. She maintains affiliations with Sophia University and Musashino University in Japan, as a global mentor and a visiting lecturer, respectively. She collaborates in her research and publications with clinicians and scientists locally and internationally. In addition to the research effort, Dr. Levitt maintains keen interests in higher education teaching, as evidenced by the recent certification as a Higher Education Academy Fellow from the Advanced HE in England. Dr. Levitt and her collaborators have developed three OER textbooks to date, and they are on two digital libraries, including OER Commons and TXOER.
